1, DATA SET year month day SO2 NO2 Number of hospital admissions Fan, J. and Chen, J. (1999). One-step local quasi-likelihood estimation, {\it Journal of the Royal Statistical Society}, Series B, {\bf 61}, 4, 927--943. Fan and Chen (1999) discuss an enviromental dataset, consisting of daily measurements of pollutants and other environmental factors in Hong Kong between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 1995. The association between levels of pollutants and number of daily hospital admissions for circulation and respiration problems is of particular interest. The data file consists of 6 columns: (1) year, (2) month, (3) day in month, (4) concentration of Sulphur Dioxde $SO_2$, (5) concentration of polutant Nitrogen $NO_2$ and (6) number of hopital admissions. (a) Using logistic regression, find how the probability of hight level of Sulphur Dioxde (with values > 20 $\mu g/m^3$) is associated with level of polutant Nitrogen $NO_2.$ (b) Using Poisson regression model explore and how the number of hospital admissions varies with the level of $NO_2.$
